Dr. Martin Safko was awarded his Medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and he served his Internal Medicine Internship at Roger Williams General Hospital, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He feels enormously grateful to have been trained by many of medicine’s greatest professors, several of whom were Nobel Prize winners.
After completing a research fellowship in Immunodermatology Dr. Safko finished his Residency in Dermatology at the University of Oregon Health Science Center in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Safko has been practicing Dermatology in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1986 and is the Medical Director of Southwest Dermatology Institute.
Dr. Safko is a well trained and experienced Mohs Surgeon, offering state of the art skin cancer treatments. After receiving a grant from the US Department of Energy, Dr. Safko collaborated with scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory to produce one of the world’s first erbium skin resurfacing lasers.
His practice in Las Vegas includes Medical, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology. He does a significant amount of cosmetic laser and non-laser procedures emphasizing non-invasive facial and body rejuvenating procedures. Dr. Safko feels that his rigorous scientific background gives him an advantage in evaluating new products and procedures, separating fact from marketing hype. Dr. Safko’s innovative techniques have led to features on Good Morning America and Canadian Network Television.
Dr. Safko has formulated his own line of skin care products using natural ingredients with strong anti oxidant properties to maintain and rejuvenate the skin in our harsh desert climate.
